Plot

Do Patti Review revolves around twin sisters, Shailly and Saumya (both played by Kriti Sanon), who navigate a turbulent childhood that leaves one emotionally resilient and the other vulnerable. Their lives spiral into chaos when they fall for the same man, Rajveer (Shaheer Sheikh). Domestic abuse and hidden motives entangle their fates, leading to a thriller steeped in betrayal, manipulation, and a battle of wits. Kajol plays a supporting role as an investigator piecing together the truth, with mixed results.

What Works

Kriti Sanon delivers a standout dual performance, embodying the contrasting personalities of her characters with precision. Her ability to make the “good” sister relatable and the “evil” sister captivating keeps the audience hooked, even as the story veers into predictable territory.

The first half builds tension effectively, crafting an intriguing psychological thriller that feels promising. The cinematography and direction create a visually engaging experience, complemented by a strong musical score that elevates the suspense.

What Doesn’t Work

The narrative falters in the second half, losing momentum due to weak writing and an overly convoluted climax. Kajol’s character, while well-acted, feels unnecessary to the plot, and her involvement detracts from the focus on Kriti’s dynamic portrayal. Shaheer Sheikh’s performance, though earnest, struggles to find depth due to a lackluster script and inconsistent character development.

Kanika Dhillon’s writing, while ambitious, falls into the trap of overcomplicating the story. The film’s promising build-up is squandered by an unsatisfying resolution, leaving audiences wishing for a more cohesive ending.

Fashion and Style in Do Patti

The film’s wardrobe plays a significant role in defining its characters. Kriti Sanon’s contrasting costumes for her dual roles highlight their differing personalities—soft pastels and traditional outfits for the “good” sister versus bold, edgy ensembles for the “evil” twin.

Kajol’s investigator look is understated, with simple kurtas and shawls reflecting her grounded demeanor. Shaheer Sheikh’s flashy attire underscores his character’s arrogance, while the supporting cast’s costumes remain minimalistic, keeping the focus on the central narrative.

Final Verdict

Do Patti is worth a watch for Kriti Sanon’s career-defining performance, but it stumbles in its execution. While the film starts strong with an intriguing premise and engaging first half, it loses steam in the latter portion, weighed down by unnecessary plot elements and an unsatisfying climax. Fans of psychological thrillers may enjoy the ride but should temper their expectations.
